I am proud to present my conversation with one of the most Beloved scholar/artist
community members of our times…my Dear friend/and long time supporter - dat supabadd fierce One - E. Patrick Johnson! Here Patrick talks about growing up in North Carolina as he shares a bit about his people on his mother's side of his lineage, and the sacrifices they made for their families. He pays homage to the women in his home town who taught oratory skills, Black literature and the richness of Black culture - and how that shaped his commitment to nurturing and helping others. Patrick speaks about the evolution of his legendary dessert parties, the role that a fine (comfortable) pair of shoes can play in one's life…and MUCH MORE!
Our conversation took place in L.A. during a visit in which he and Omi Osun Joni L. Jones were in conversation about his newest book, Honeypot: Black Southern Women Who Love Women.
